Last time we lived in Great Falls we took a lonely trip to Fort Benton in which all the stores were closed (thank you Memorial Day Weekend), and we were left to wander the streets of a seeming ghost town, satisfying ourselves with a convenience store-bought Reese's peanut butter cup for lunch since everything else was boarded up for the day.
This trip was much different--
A shootout where the town harlots were taken over by pint-sized aliens (???),
Gorgeous views of the Missouri river,
Sidewalk chalk murals.
Old-time tours through the historic fort,
Art, music, and tons of food.
It really pays to visit a tiny town during their festival!
