It's a . . .

I don't know how it's possible that we have totally forgotten to post the news of our ultrasound last week!! Maybe it was the craziness of our move to Logan that did it. Hmm. Anyway, are you ready? We're having a . . .

BOY!!!

Besides needing to duck to miss the buttons flying off Ryan's shirt from an overwhelming sense of pride by producing a boy,

(little aside here- aren't guys are SO funny about that! I don't really recall thinking to myself with Reese, "Yep. That's right, we're having a girl. Who's having a girl? That would be ME. U-huh. Because, ahem, I'm cool.")
,

I've been thrilled to discover that I actually DO have motherly intuition! Cause I knew it. :) That didn't happen with Reese. Wahoo!!

So yay for boys- especially ours. :) Arriving in September.

I LOVE little kids!!!

I just the answered doorbell to three little girls I'd never seen before that couldn't be more than 4 or 5. They were adorable! Long curly hair, in cute cotton summer dresses, and absolutely covered in dirt and bits of grass and twigs. The leader of the group stepped forward and asked, in a sad little voice,

"Can you get the pokey out of my hair?" She turned around and pointed to a matted knot of curly brown hair and burrs balled up on top of her head. It looked like the trio had taken a dive into a briar patch with Brer Rabbit.

As I worked to help her out, the other little girls told me all about the poor, dead skunk they found by the side of the road (quite recently from the looks of them) without any eyes- "just holes where he was supposed to have eyes!"- but that they assured me had gone to heaven. Phew!

After several minutes I broke the news that they should probably go find their mommies because I couldn't get it out. (AKA, didn't have a prayer!)

"Ok!" they chimed in unison. And tromped down the stairs calling goodbyes and recalling the whole skunk experience once again.

I shut the door and giggled, remembering the days when I was their age and used to go door-to-door giving hand-written love notes to perfect strangers. Ahh, to be young and completely unintimidated!

Graduation, Part II

After several weeks of crazy, I'm finally getting the rest of our Graduation photos up. These are mostly from after the commencement and during a co-family picnic we had with the Miller's. Thank you again to all who came and celebrated with us- it was a great time!

And here's a funny little slideshow for you- think flipbook. :)

As I'm sure you can tell we didn't realize what was going on until too late- and thus tried to keep from flashing the ever-growing audience of passers-by. :)
Definitely a good portrayal of our goofy husbands- they thought they were SO funny!

We live with a Parrot.

So we're really getting into that stage of life when both Ryan and I need to be careful what we say.

The other day Ryan put on some cologne and Reese came running into the bathroom saying,

"I want to smell!!"
He leaned down for her to smell him and she said,
"Mmm, it's good. It's hot!"

Then she ran away to go play.

Yikes, I guess she's been paying attention. ;)

Graduation!!!

Part 1- Hail the Conquering Hero!

After four years of hard work and more reading and writing of papers than any person should have to endure (well, he was a history major) Ryan finally graduated from BYU! Huzzah! I couldn't be prouder of my amazing, talented, hardworking, and basically all around best-in-the-world husband. Here are a few pics of the commencement festivities- thanks again to all the wonderful family that came to help us celebrate! We love you!

What we thought was 'early' reserved us a seat in the nosebleeds, thank goodness for Mese and her whopping lens!

This was IN-SANE. And yep, that's us, about five rows down from the very top-
What?! Can't you see us?

Commencement Speaker- Elder Todd D. Christofferson, Quorum of Twelve Apostles

In they came. . .

The crowd

Ahh, that beautiful (empty) cover!

Pensive & dignified.

Now that looks more like Ryan!

With Mom and Dad . . .

. . .and Justin who flew out from Atlanta (huge thank you to all!)

Time to PARTY!

Stay tuned for, as Reese would say, "more and More and MORE!"
Part II's a-comin'!
